I start with one thing: the 5th book in the series Rachel Morgan, Kim Harrison, could not bear his name better!
Now you know my heart for helping the trio Rachel / Ivy / Jenks, (beating heart that you can find here , There , here or there !), Then you can imagine I jumped at the fifth book when it debuted in December!
"His love: a vampire. Her roommate: another vampire! And yet, Rachel Morgan has always managed to get out of the worst trouble so far .... A serial killer devilish haunts the Cloaca and no one is safe, neither the living nor the dead ... alive. Rachel could put an end to these killings, thanks to a powerful ancient artifact that owns and nobody knows yet exist. But in revealing it, it might ignite a war without thank you among all the supernatural creatures. "
(Milady editions) We find ourselves in this 5th volume, any" clique "that we got to know Over the previous books: Jenks has not lost its superb and his expressions are always so ... Jenks! Ivy is the secret and dark vampire as we know, and Rachel ... Well Rachel is Rachel, and we find, from the first pages, surrounded by demons selfish and surly ...
short, I knew, beforehand, that we would book this tome many surprises!
Yes, the novel starts strong, very strong. We do not even have time to catch our brands in Cincinnati that Rachel takes us directly into his hunt for demons in his long preparations potion and charm, and his tortured mind.
Yes, Rachel is the one we have known: sometimes asking too many questions (but this makes it so lovable ^ ^) and found himself constantly in uncomfortable situations (if an overnight stay in a circle with a demon crazy running around the latter, can be defined as "uncomfortable"!), dangerous and sometimes fatal ...
The detailed style of Kim Harrison takes us so this time, through moult demonic stories, but also deeper in the relationship Rachel / Ivy. And it's brilliant that the author managed to write, invent, build a story love complex as it may exist in reality (leaving aside the aspect of vampire / witch, I admit!). This story, we follow from the first volume, and then come to understand the fears of Ivy, the desires of Rachel, the reassuring presence of man in Kisten what these women's issues.
This story is finally as one of friendship, but love. And do not count on Kim Harrison to give you the pathos, there is none.
No, as always there is laughter, envy, the explosion of waiting, the suspense ...
And as always, every detail is controlled and calculated ... (Yes, if you read my last 4 reviews of Rachel Morgan, you'll find that I repeat myself! But I assume ^ ^).
Finally, you may find a few laps this fifth volume, which is still almost 700 pages, one or two time-outs, also ... But this will only give you an explosive end, breathless!
So yes, I repeat, and if the further adventures of Rachel Morgan is to be height of the first five volumes, I risk repeating myself for a while yet!
My rating for Demons And Some More: 4 / 5 . (Not more because of the length towards the middle of the novel.)
