Title: The Kingdom of the Carpathians - The Prince's Shadow (Volume 1)
Author: Christine Feehan
Edit: I read
Pagination : 412 pages
Abstract:
For centuries, the Lords of the Carpathians live in harmony. But their race is doomed to disappear. Their wives n'enfantent more girls and vampire slayers take them for targets. Prince Mikhail Dubrinsky is mad with grief when he learns that his younger sister was murdered. Ready to commit the irreparable, he is saved from despair by a young man, Raven, whose voice miraculously awakens his desire to live. Mikhail identifies it as soon as his alter ego, knowing that her love puts in danger ...
My opinion:
- So to say everything at once, I stopped at 74% (exactly) from my reading and it's not for lack of tried, I tried to hang for a while. But no, nothing works.
And yet everything was propitious that this book I liked. Read the summary, I thought reading a novel in the same vein as The Brotherhood of the Black Dagger or Shadows of the Night or Circle of Immortals ... But no. If that vaguely resembles it is terribly boring.
First, it starts much too fast. It enters into telepathic contact with Raven and ottoman, two exchanged words and he is lovesick ... Sure, you'd think the first volume of the shadows of the night but this is not the same ... We try to make a copy with an alter ego ... But the sauce does not .. And the rest of this book is "I love you, too, but I'm not sure what I want, I'm crazy about you, I reject you, I understand you, I do not know who you are oh yes make our lives together, noooo I do not ever want you again, blah blah blah "and turn to him, it is not always better because the same thing" I love you, you understand me, you are my alter ego, I need you in my life, I must protect you, I'm crazy for you, you're here only to know who I am, you understand me, you are my life, I am lacking without you, I can not survive if I do not see you for three and a half seconds, blah. "
course, I love stories of course, but this is sickening they only speak of their love, their differences, their similarities and the rest of the story would have been worth pursuing (perhaps is it the end? But I do not the courage to know) is not for the 3 / 4 of the book!
short, disappointing for me.
- The characters are stereotyped to be, as I explained above, the book consists only of their relationship ... All other characters are in awe of Mikhail and Raven, it's superficial ...
- I can not really give an opinion on the author's style because I was too annoyed by the story ... It's awfully repetitive.
